Faith Series : we've already got faith

Ephesians (2:8) "For by grace are you saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God."

Many times as Christians we find ourselves praying "Lord, give me more faith, give me more love, ect". I've done it, as I'm sure other believers have also, but there are some things that we don't actually need to pray for, as God has already, through the new birth, given us these things.

Galatians (5:22-23) speaks of the fruit of the Spirit. One of the fruits of the Spirit is faith. All the fruit of the spirit, which these verses speak of, were deposited within our reborn, re-created human spirit the moment we received the amazing free gift of salvation through Jesus. Faith is something we're not trying to get, but what God has already given to us. Where, if God has already given us faith, is He going to go to get more faith for us. He's already given us faith. We just need to believe, receive and walk in what's He's given to us through the new birth.

Romans (12:3), says He has given every man the measure of faith. We all, everyone of us have an equal amount of faith. God doesn't have favourites, He's not a respecter of persons. He loves and treats us all equally. When He says He's given us an equal measure of faith, He means it.

You have all the faith in the world. It may be dusty, through neglect of use and letting it lie dormant within you all this time, but dust it off, dig it out and activate it, through believing the living word of God and using the faith that God has given you.

John (15:5) "I am the vine, you are the branches; He who abides in me and I in Him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."
